With the 2007/2008 UAE Soccer League on the horizon, Dubailand, a member of Tatweer, today announced it will be the main sponsor for Al Nasr Club, which houses UAE’s leading football team.

Founded in 1960, Al Nasr, which means ‘victory’ is one of the most famous clubs in the UAE. A leader in football, the club also has teams partaking in a host of sports including volleyball, basketball, tennis and athletics.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Mohammed Al Habbai, CEO of Dubailand, said: “As the region’s largest leisure and entertainment destination we are proud to sponsor Al Nasr Club. We see this collaboration as part of our strategy to support local spots and community activities, with sport being an important offering from Dubailand.”

Al Nasr has a host of different playing grounds. Their main playing field ‘Al Maktoum’ has a seating capacity of 12,000, encompassing administration offices, refreshment zones and a VIP lounge.

The UAE Soccer League starts this month, and will run through to May 2008.
