Construction of MotorCity, a development by Union Properties PJSC based on a unique automobile and motor sport theme is progressing well. The development includes residential, business, sports and leisure opportunities. A ‘city within a city’, developed over a land of approximately 38,000,000 sq.ft, MotorCity has five project components that includes the already operational Dubai Autodrome, Business Park MotorCity, UPTOWN MotorCity, Green Community MotorCity and the world’s first F1 Theme Park.

A main attraction at MotorCity, the F1 Theme Park will be an edutainment destination for the whole family. Designed to offer entertainment facilities and educate visitors on F1 and related activities, the theme park is developed by Union Properties in conjunction with Formula One Administration Limited.

Following on their strategy to adopt worldwide brands, UP was granted rights in November 2006 by the Formula One Administration (FOA) to develop F1 Theme Parks around the world, starting with USD360million F1 Theme Park in Dubai. Covering over 208,000 square metres, the F1 Theme Park will make everyone sense the exhilarating and exciting thrill of the F1 brand experience.

The F1 Theme Park will be a visionary and permanent theme park offering unparalleled access to the world's most popular annual sporting series and feature state-of-the-art fun and entertainment facilities for all ages, all 'under one roof'.

The major rides for the F1 Theme Park have been contracted and will be manufactured using the strictest engineering standards available, the most exacting tolerances and all with Formula One racing as inspiration. These rides and exhibits posses unique detail and will deliver the most authentic F1 experience for race lovers and Roller Coaster aficionados alike. The experience will be enhanced with fully themed structures, water features and themed landscaping, not to mention many interactive zones for all the family. Other family oriented junior rides and attractions will be contracted in the coming weeks. The F1 Theme Park Dubai, like its namesake is accelerating to the exciting opening in 2009.

Other MotorCity components that are also set be complete in 2009 include the Automall complex within the Business Park MotorCity that comprises of Showrooms, an office building and a hotel building; the residential components of Green Community MotorCity with a total of 446 units and UPTOWN MotorCity that will have a total of 3000 housing units.
